Understanding Disability: Language, Identity, Culture, and Models
My name is Zoie Sheets (she/they pronouns) and I am a resident physician in both internal medicine and pediatrics. My work focuses on expanding access to medical care for people with disabilities, mostly through training future and current physicians in providing anti-ableist care. I’m also a member of the Docs With Disabilities Initiative, where we focus on expanding access to medical education to increase representation of providers with disabilities.
